Dr. Anna Bashford is a skilled, caring gynaecologist and an experienced and meticulous laparoscopic surgeon. Her qualifications include MBChB, FRANZCOG, and MRMed (Hons).

Anna trained in medicine at Otago University, started her specialist training at the Royal Free Hospital in London and completed it in Auckland. After graduating as a fellow of the RANZCOG she worked for ten years as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at National Women’s Hospital (NWH) with a special interest in adolescent gynaecology and laparoscopic surgery. Over this time, she also completed a fellowship in fertility and laparoscopic surgery in Queensland.

Anna joined Fertility Associates (FA) in 2014 and underwent further training, completing a Masters of Reproductive Medicine (MRMed) from the University of NSW in 2016. She continues to provide fertility consultation from FA but moved her gynaecology practice to Advanced Gynaecology Auckland (AGA) in 2023.

In addition to fertility and reproductive endocrinology, her professional interests are wide-ranging and include menstrual disorders, endometriosis, menopause and pelvic pain. She particularly likes working with young people and has extensive adolescent gynaecology experience, including with the NWH adolescent gynaecology team.

Anna is a warm, compassionate and understanding doctor who is up to date with the latest best evidence and cutting-edge practice. She is married with three children and enjoys tennis, netball and trail running.
